Betadine 5%  (U.S.N.L.M.)
Dosing/ EKC Pretreat with topical anesthesia.    Instill 4-5 gtt Betadine 5%,  pt rolls eyes
60 seconds. Treat margins with soaked swab. Then lavage with sterile
saline.   Post treat with topical NSAID. 
(Some advocate Rx Lotemax qid for 4 or 5 days and oral pain med on day 1.)

Class microbicide
Action Works through pathogen wall, coat, or envelope destruction.
Usage Indicated for prepping of the periocular region (lids, brow, and cheek) and
irrigation of the ocular surface (cornea, conjunctiva, and palpebral fornices).
Off label - truncates EKC infectious period and stromal antigen exposure.
Contraindications Sensitivity to iodine, or other components of this product.
Pediatric use Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients not established.
Pregnancy Category C Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with BETADINE 5%
EKC treatment almost exclusively used for adults and seldom used when pt
has already been symptomatic for more than 5 or 6 days.
