Dosing:
 (Iritis, corneal abrasion.)
5/325mg: 1 or 2 tabs every 4 to 6 hrs.   Do not exceed 12 tablets.
7.5/325mg: 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hrs.   Do not exceed 6 tablets.
10/325mg: 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hrs.   Do not exceed 6 tablets.
Chem Specs 5mg,  7.5mg,  or 10mg  hydrocodone and
325mg or 500 mg acetaminophen
Quantities Often prescribed on 24 or 48hr basis with no refills. (e.g. "8 (eight) tablets)" or "16 (sixteen) tablets".

Class Semisynthetic opiod agonist (hydrocodone), Aniline analgesic (acetaminophen)
Action Synergistic pain relief. Each drug acting on a separate area of the nervous system.
Usage narcotic for moderate to moderatly severe pain relief.
Caution Acetaminophen related risk of acute liver failure in patients with underlying liver disease and
alcohol use. Alcohol and other CNS depressants may cause additive CNS depression.
Contraindications Hypersensitivity to hyrocodone, other opiods, or acetaminophin.
Pediatric use Safety and effectiveness not established.
Pregnancy Category C.  No adequate, well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
Consider Xodol 5/300 and Norco 5/325 if readily available.
Vicoprofen may substitute if inflammatory control is desired.
Less sedation and constipation than codeine.
