| Usage | Indicated for the treatment of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis and for inflammation and pain following ophthalmic surgery. |
| Warning | Prolonged use of corticosteroids may result in glaucoma and cataract. IOP should be monitored during the course of treatment. |
| Contraindications | Active corneal, conjunctival or canalicular infections, including epithelial herpes simplex keratitis (dendritic keratitis), vaccinia, varicella; mycobacterial infections; fungal diseases of the eye, and dacryocystitis. Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the preparation. |
| Pediatric use | Safety and effectiveness is established in the pediatric population from neonates to age 17. |
| Pregnancy | In animal reproduction studies dexamethasone produced embryofetal lethality, cleft palate and multiple visceral malformations. |
