Class aminoglycoside, corticosteroid
Action Aminoglycosides prevent bacterial protein synthesis. Corticosteroids
inhibit arachidonic acid release.

Activity Active against a variety of aerobic bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa,

Pregnancy While systemic use during pregnancy can cause fetal hearing loss, the PDR
states that limited ophthalmic use is unlikely to cause harm. Fetal harm
has been shown in rats at 500x the ophthalmic human dose.

Exercise caution with severe or unresponsive keratitis as
