| Side Effects |
netarsudil
Mild conjunctival hyperemia occurs in 50% to 60%, but is consistently observed in only 10% and so is considered "well tolerated". Corneal epithelial macrocysts, small conjunctival hemorrhages, and cornea verticillata(20%) which resolve on discontinuation.
latanoprost
Generally less hyperemia, less pigmentation of iris, periorbital tissue (eyelid), and eye- lashes than Lumigan. Possible cystoid macular edema in pseudophakes and aphakes. May exacerbated iritis/uveitis. Possible reactivation of herpes simplex and zoster. Dry eye-like surface inflammation observed in mice.1 Avoid with inflammatory glaucomas and surface eye disease. |
| Pediatric use | Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established. Latanoprost has been used in children as young as 5 yrs without notable problems.2 |
| Pregnancy | Category C. Embryofetal lethality in rabbits at 80x the normal human dose but not at 15x. |
| 0.015% BAK may be absorbed by contact lenses. Contact lenses should be removed prior to administration of the solution. Lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes following administration. |
