Class     timolol:           Non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker.
    latanoprost:    Prostaglandin analog (prodrug)
Usage Easier to use and more cost effective than single-medication alternatives.
Contraindications
timolol

Bronchial asthma, a history of bronchial asthma, COPD, sinus bradycardia,
second or third degree atrioventricular block, overt cardiac failure, cardiogenic shock.
Use caution when cerebrovascular insufficiency is suspected.

Many side effects are associated with the vascular effects of beta blocking agents.

latanoprost

Generally less hyperemia, less pigmentation of iris, and lids than Lumigan.
Possible cystoid macular edema in pseudophakes and/or aphakes. May exacerbated
iritis/uveitis. Possible reactivation of herpes simplex and zoster. Dry eye-like surface
inflammation observed in mice.1 Avoid with inflammatory glaucomas and surface eye disease.
Pediatric use Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.
Latanoprost has been used in children as young as 5 yrs without notable problems.2
Pregnancy Category C   Embryofetal lethality shown in rats and rabbits at clinically relevant doses.
Compounded 503A - individual drugs are FDA approved but the combination is not.
